Meeting Details

Thursday 9th & Friday 10th June 2022, St George's Hall, Liverpool.​


Successful abstracts will be eligible for either poster or oral presentation, with prizes for the best presentations within each section.

Abstract Categories

There will be three categories this year:

  1. Case report

  2. Audit and Quality Improvement

  3. Research



High scoring abstracts may be published in the BJA.

Also, all meeting abstracts chosen for either oral or poster presentation will be published within the electronic meeting booklet which will be made available to all registered delegates.


Suggested topics, which may be related to either adult or paediatric practice, include:


  • Cardiac anaesthesia, surgery and peri-operative care

  • Thoracic anaesthesia, surgery and peri-operative care

  • Cardiothoracic critical care

  • Congenital heart disease

  • Perfusion

  • Clinical governance, quality improvement and education

  • Management of cardiorespiratory arrest

  • COVID-19 and cardiothoracic critical care, anaesthesia and perfusion
